Green Week at the Green Office

Week 48 marks Green Week at the University of Oslo, with a focus on sustainable consumption! Throughout the week, various events will take place, both organized by Green Office and the Municipality of Oslo as part of their Reuse Week.

You are warmly welcome to the Green Office during our opening hours all week for Green Week. Throughout the semestre we have put aside many nice things for our Free Corner (our own little free shop), which we are putting out this week, giving the shop a little boost. Maybe you'll find something there that you might want, or that you might want to give away as a Christmas present? It's also possible to wrap Christmas presents in old newspaper and get a brochure with some Green tips for Christmas and life in general. We also serve coffee and gingerbread cookies!

Also follow the Municipality of Oslo's website to see other green events this week.

Green Cafe: Let's talk about consumption!

On Wednesday, November 27th at 9:00 AM at the Green Office, we invite you to a Green Cafe, with a conversation about consumption and consumption patterns. Why is it difficult to change consumption patterns, what makes us consume the way we do, and how can we change this? To introduce this theme, we have invited UiO researcher at the Center for Development and the Environment (SUM), Ulrikke Bryn Wethal. Free coffee and snacks will be served!

Green Christmas Crafts Workshop

On Friday, November 29th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the basement of the HumSam library, we are organizing a Green Christmas Workshop together with the HumSam library and the student association Strikk og Drikk. We have found old books, yarn scraps, beads and much more that you can use to make Christmas decorations and gifts. There will be different stations where you can make Christmas cards, Christmas baskets, origami figures, Christmas buttons and much more. There will also be gingerbread cookies and Christmas music.

We hope that lots of you will join us for this nice and calm week of delightful distractions from your exam preparations!
