Student mobility

Every year over 1000 UiO students go abroad for exchange for one or two semesters within established mobility partnerships. We also welcome more than 1500 exchange students from partner universities to our campus.

Through integrating international mobility as a regular part of the study programmes, UiO aims at increasing the number of outgoing students significantly in the coming years. And we look forward to welcoming an equivalent number of incoming exchange students.

Exchange agreements at UiO

UiO has exchange agreements with more than 500 universities around the world and participates in a number of international exchange programmes such as Erasmus+  and Nordplus. See list of agreements

Agreements are based on mutual interest in cooperation between our own and the cooperating institution’s researchers and departments. Universities which are interested in setting up an exchange agreement with UiO must contact the relevant faculty or department directly.

If further guidance or more specific contact information, you may write to:

  • the bilateral team at cooperation@admin.uio.no for bilateral agreements (agreements outside the EU/EEA area),
  • the UiO institutional Erasmus+ coordinators at erasmus-uio@admin.uio.no (agreements and cooperation under the Erasmus+ programme).
