On the exact day of the 125-year anniversary of George Gershwin, the Aula Series invites to an international star-filled celebratory concert in the University Aula. Here we will mark the most important bridge-builder in the history of music between classical and jazz with many of his most well-known songs – and a few unknown pearls.
The concert also celebrates that almost 100 years ago, Gershwin started his work with the iconic piano concert Rhapsody in Blue. The audience get served a smoking fresh orchestra arrangement inspired by the first listed version from 1924.
Experience Norwegian Jazz Orchestra under the leadership of conductor Carl Nilsen in a real time fusion of classical music and jazz, with soloist performances from inernational stars: Australian-British Hetty Kate, American Jimmy Roberts, Felix Peikli, Knut Kippersund and Thormod R?nning Kvam.
