Social media for researchers

How can you use social media for your own benefit to reach your target audience?

What works on Facebook? Who uses Twitter – and does it really improve your H-index if you tweet about your own research? How can the communications adviser at your department help you, and what is required to become the favourite scientist to the journalists?

We will have a quick look at how to make a cool short video for social media. We will go through some of the most used social media: Facebook, twitter, snapchat, Instagram, blogs and ResearchGate.

Who can attend?

This course is directed at academic employees (including PhD candidates) that are employed by the University of Oslo, and that wish to start using social media to reach out with science.
