Self-management - getting things done

Become more aware of your own motivation, mindset, and how you plan your working day. In this short introductory course on self-management, you will, through the use of simple techniques, improve your prioritization and stress management skills.

Target audience

The course is for technical-administrative and scientific employees.

In this course, you will learn:

  • What self-management is and why it is important
  • How to set effective goals and plan your work better
  • How to use simple techniques and tools

Time and place

  • Wednesday, February 5, 10:00 – 11:00
  • The course is digital. You will receive a Zoom link the day before

Practical information

  • No prerequisites required
  • The course is digital, with some individual reflection exercises
  • Join the meeting 5 minutes before the course starts
  • Have a pen and paper available

Cost

The course is free of charge.

Number of participants

Max. 200 participants. The course does not have a waiting list.

About the instructors

The instructors are Vivienne Lumayag and Linn Grimstad-Nielsen. Vivienne is a trained career advisor and currently works with career development for early-career researchers at UiO. Linn has extensive experience in both competence development and work environment development. Both work at UiO in the Department of Organization and Personnel.

Self-management course Part 2 is under development. This will likely be a course over 2x3 hours where participants try out various tools and techniques, create a personal development plan, and reflect on their development.
