Practical information for new employees
- Access to IT services: Please contact your local IT support engineer via hjelp@teologi.uio.no to obtain your username and login details for office machines, e-mail, access to calendar software and other IT services. You must be registered in the University of Oslo’s payroll and HR system before access can be granted.
- Personal profile and photo: New employees must create a personal profile online. Ask your local web editorial team if you need help creating your profile. The webmaster can also assist if you need to take a profile photo for your personal profile. Contact nettredaksjon@teologi.uio.no.
- Employee card: Everyone employed at the University of Oslo for more than three months must have their own employee card showing their name, photo, date of birth and signature. Cards are issued via the SiO centre at Blindern. More about employee cards
You must be registered in the University of Oslo payroll and HR systems in order for a permanent card to be issued. You can borrow a temporary card from the Information Centre if required. - Parking: The parking app allows all University of Oslo staff to park in the parking spaces marked with the letter “A” at the university campuses. Useful tools for the working day
- On the “For employees” pages, you can also find an overview of the most commonly used tools and services.
- The self-service portal is the University of Oslo’s electronic HR solution, where employees register their own absence, working hours, travel and expense reports and can also view their payslips. The self-service portal is also available as a mobile app

Academic and social meeting places
Wednesday Waffle Lunch: There is a staff lunch in the cafeteria on Wednesdays at 11:30. Bring a packed lunch! You will get to hear all the latest Faculty news.
Theological Community Forum: TCF is a community forum that is open to all academic staff and holds regular gatherings throughout the semester. Keep an eye on the event list.
Faculty sessions: Faculty sessions are held for all staff once or twice a year. These are sometimes held locally at the Faculty but may also involve travel.
All employees are also encouraged to participate in the events linked to the start and end of the semester.
Get to know the organisation
The chief academic officer at the Faculty is the Dean. The chief executive officer at the Faculty is the Faculty Director.
The Faculty Board is the highest decision-making body of the Faculty Board and is responsible for establishing overall objectives, priorities and strategies for the organisation, within the framework of applicable laws, regulations and rules, as well as decisions made by the University Board.
The Faculty also has a number of councils and committees.
Health, safety and the environment (HSE)
