Important conditions for good recruitment

  • Recruit employees with expertise at the level of work tasks to be performed, and with the requirements that are set.
  • Ensure that the recruitment process is carried out in a professional and efficient manner and addresses the central and local policies that apply to these types of issues.
  • Ensure that objective and thorough assessments are carried out throughout the process and that the applicants have a positive experience of UiO also if their application is not successful.

Objectives for UiO's recruitment policy

  • UiO will develop a targeted and aggressive recruitment policy and actively use available tools to recruit and retain attractive expertise.
  • UiO will conduct long-term and comprehensive planning to recruit and retain talented employees, and adapt the university's overall competence to its own priorities and society's needs.
  • UiO undertakes to counteract any discrimination. UiO's recruitment policy must be open and inclusive with a view to a good gender balance in all types of positions and contribute to the UiO's workforce reflecting the diversity in society, also with regard to different ethnic backgrounds, persons with disabilities and age composition.
  • The recruitment policy must be based on good assessments of UiO's competence needs, both in the short and long term.
  • The recruitment processes must be carried out efficiently and in line with current legislation and agreements.
  • As an applicant for job vacancies you will find that you have received a good and proper treatment of your application and that the recruitment process has been orderly and effective.
