KLM

Information relevant to employees at KLM.

The new building

Access to the building

  • KLM employees have access control to OUS laboratories and access to common areas without access control.
  • KLM employees can use the same ID card as before.
  • Visiting researchers will be taken care of, and will follow the current office regulations.
  • There is good access to quiet and meeting rooms. Se area overview.

Entrance to the building

KLM employees have an entrance on the west side (facing Rikshospitalet). Access is needs-based. KLM employees also have access via the main entrance. This entrance has free access.

LVB does not have its own parking spaces for employees . Bicycle parking is offered at the entrance.

Internet access

KLM employees have access to both OUS and UiO networks in OUS's areas.

Opening times

It is the usual opening time. In addition, there will be some 24/7 operation in OUS premises.

Facilities

Changing rooms

OUS has its own changing rooms for employees who wear white clothes.  More information on access and parking.

IT help

KLM employees use Sykehuspartner as a supplier.

Core facilities

What are the core facilities?

Sequencing, flow, light microscopy, structural biology, proteomics/metabolomics.

What will the laboratories look like?

The laboratories are designed based on the users' needs. See area overview.

Office places

KLM's eH?ndboksprosedyre for use of offices and landscape.

OUS follows the law and regulations for the allocation of office space (6 m2).

OUS has arranged for universal design

Lockable lockers

KLM employees are provided with lockable lockers in the office landscape. You can use your access card as a key.

Raise and lower tables

There will be raise and lower tables in OUS office areas and predefined raise and lower tables in laboratories, for example part of lab buoys, fume hoods and safety cabinets.

PCs

It will be a combination of desktop and laptop computers

Consequences when moving

The move may delay research activity. To limit the delay, we we must ensure that we move to 100% completed laboratories.

Will there be a stay in research, and how long?

Previous experience from when the Department of Microbiology moved a section to a new building indicates a couple of months before everything is in place as normal

You must count on a stay in experimental work (including MSc project).

When are the core facilities operational?

The core facilities move at slightly different times, depending on where you built them to be. We expect that microscopy, structural biology, proteomics and metabolomics will become operational before flow cytometry and sequencing.

Laboratory animals

Working with laboratory animals (mice/rats) will not be affected, as the life science building does not accommodate this activity.

Co-operation

OUS has established environments to co-locate its academic activities and to strengthen cooperation with UiO through a core facility structure.
