Project management

UiO and OUS each have their own projects, which will ensure that we can start using the building when it is ready in 2026-2027.

Finances  

Statsbygg manages the Life Science Building. UiO and OUS are tenants and will pay rent.

The project board

There is a joint project board for the Life Science Building, which consists of:

  • Ministry of Education and Research
  • Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance
  • The South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse S?r-?st RHF)
  • University of Oslo
  • Oslo University Hospital
  • Statsbygg

UiO's reception project

UiO's project includes planning, preparation, and execution of the transition from the construction project to the operational phase. During the project period, the building is to be completed and the facility made operational, equipment moved in and installed, employees and students relocated, and UiO’s activities commenced.

The project period is 2023-2027.

There is a steering group led by the University Director. It consists of the affected faculties, in addition to the Estate Department, IT Department, and the Department of Finance and Business Management. Responsibility for academic development lies with the Rectorate.

The reception project is housed within the Estate Department (Eiendomsavdelingen, EA) and is led by Gunnar Dick.

The project comprises five subprojects.

  • User equipment
  • Relocation and disposal
  • HSE and lab operations
  • Administration
  • Operation
  • Maintenance, Development, and Service
  • ICT/IT and AV

The OUS program in the Life Science building

The OUS program in the Life Science building has a Core team with the following participants:

  • Equipment: Trine Kjellsen (TIK TNO)
  • ICT: Kjetil Johnsen (TIK)
  • Property: Per- Arne J?rgensen (OSS)

Clinic for laboratory medicine has the following project group:

  • Logistics: Christin Thrane Pedersen
  • Relocation, training and disposal: Hanne Elisabeth Akselsen
  • Procedure, preparedness and competence plans: Bj?rn Tj?nn?s
  • ICT: Kirstin Elisabeth Dahle
  • Research and development UiO: Lars Eide
  • Communication: Sandra Dale

When it comes to OUS's acquisitions and ICT, it is Helse S?r-East's project organization (HS? PO) that leads this work.
