When prioritizing applications, the following factors will be emphasized:
- Collaboration across disciplines and sections
- Support for young researchers in the early stages of their careers
- Enhancing diversity and increasing the proportion of women in senior academic positions
- Improving the quality of subsequent applications for external funding
There will be a separate announcement for assistants (research assistant, research technician), so it is not possible to apply for assistants in this call.
Applicants who received funds last year will generally not be prioritized this year. The Head of Department, together with the department management, will evaluate the applications and prioritize them.
Please submit a project outline (maximum 1 page) that briefly describes the background, purpose, and methods, along with a simple budget detailing how the funds are planned to be used in 2025. The outline must address key ethical issues and any necessary approvals. Additionally, it should include a brief explanation of how the project aligns with relevant criteria for Open Science and how the funds will enhance the quality of future applications for external funding (e.g., Research Council, ERC, etc.)
Up to NOK 500,000 per application will be granted.
A CV (maximum 2 pages) for the principal investigator(s) (prosjektleder(e)) and any key collaborators at PSI must be attached. Each principal investigator may submit only one application.

The allocation and framework for the allocation are subject to the board’s approval of the budget in December.
The application deadline is November 22, 2024.
The funds must be used in 2025.
Applicants will be notified in January 2025.
A report on the allocated funds must be submitted in the fall of 2025.
