Temporary special scheme for Palestinian researchers
Purpose
The purpose of the scheme is to provide Palestinian researchers with the opportunity to continue their work in Norway while developing networks and identifying opportunities for future careers within or outside of academia.
Who can apply
Units at UiO with a contact person and one academic employee available to mentor the Palestinian researcher.
Who they can apply for
Researchers who are registered inhabitants of the West Bank or Gaza Strip and thereby holders of a Palestinian ID card. There is a requirement for a completed doctoral degree. It can only be applied once for each researcher.
What can be covered
Hosting one or more Palestinian researchers, for up to NOK 200,000 per researcher. The full amount available corresponds to approximately 3 months of an FTE, but there is some flexibility to how to best support the researcher. During the host period, the researcher can work on their own ongoing research, teach distance courses, participate in projects at UiO or apply for external funding, e.g. the EU’s Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA).
Scholars at Risk (SAR)
UiO units collaborating with Palestinian colleagues may also nominate Palestinian researchers to the ordinary SAR funding for one year hosting. If this is relevant, please contact the SAR institutional contact person for further information.
