The template automatically gives you a front page / home page with module listing, and two modules with two content pages. You change the page and module name to what suits your course. You are free to remove/add modules, remove/add content pages, add assignments, quizzes, discussions, etc.
If you add, delete or rename modules, the changes will automatically be reflected on the course home page. The text in the template is Norwegian, but it is only sample text you'll need to replace anyway.

How to use the course template
1) In an empty course, click "Import from Commons" in the menu to your right:
2) In Commons, find the UiO template by searching for "UiO-mal".
3) Click to go to the template. to the right on the screen you'll find the course(s) you can import the template to.Click to select the courses you want to use the template for, and click "Import into course".
