New route: A slightly altered route for Sognsvannsveien is to be constructed at the roundabout towards The National Hospital, Rikshospitalet (see illustration). Therefore, there may be more traffic congestion in the area in the coming weeks.
Blasting: The blasting in the construction pit on the north side of Domus Medica continues and will occur until mid August this year. They will be blasting increasingly closer to our building. Blasting occurs from Monday to Thursday at the following times (+/- 5 minutes):
- 08:30
- 12:00
- 15:30
We are noticing the blasting more than anticipated and are in dialogue with the contractor about this. Vibration monitors are installed in several locations in the building, and more will be set up.
Pedestrian bridge closed for a week at the end of February: A permanent railing will be installed on the pedestrian bridge on the west side of Domus Medica at the end of February. During this time, people must use the entrance on the south side or walk around the entire building.
Demolition of the patient hotel: The interior demolition of our neighboring building has started. In a few weeks they will start working on the exterior, demolishing bricks and cutting concrete. This will cause noise at times. Noise monitors are mounted on our facades, and the average noise limit must not be exceeded. From experience, noise within the permitted limit can also be challenging. Talk to your immediate manager about any alternative solutions at work.
It may at times also be challenging to run meetings on Zoom or Teams from Domus Medica.
Less parking for bikes: Some areas that previously had space to park bikes have now been removed due to construction activities. Therefore, there will be fewer places to park bikes in the spring.
