Dear colleagues,
Time passes quickly when so much is happening. Those of us working in the Dean's office are still getting out and about a lot in order to meet as many people as possible, gain an insight into the diverse activities offered by our faculty and to meet important partners.
For example, it was very pleasant and interesting to attend the Life Science Conference 2023 which aimed to explore the interface between health, technology and society. There were many representatives from the faculty among the speakers and as participants in the panel debates, and they all made highly impressive contributions.
For example, the Director of Greenhouse for Value Creation, Hilde Nebb, stud. med./ President of the Student Parliament, Oline Marie S?ther and professor Arnoldo Frigessi at the Department of Biostatistics all participated in the discussions on how to facilitate innovation and achieve convergence between the research communities.
Professor Stefan Krauss, Director of the Hybrid Technology Hub, spoke about "The Organoid Revolution in Biomedical Research", and Professor ?slaug Helland at the Cancer Clinic and Professor Kristina Haugaa at the Cardiopulmonary and Vascular Clinic presented strong contributions about extremely successful "private-public partnerships" in respect of cancer medicine and cardiology respectively. Professor Jan Terje Andersen at the Department of Pharmacology gave a very good and enthusiastic speech in the debate with health and industry leaders on cooperation between research, industry and the authorities.
This is just one of many events and activities that you contribute greatly to both within and outside the university. The Faculty of Medicine is making an impression!
