Holiday registration
Public holidays
Until Friday, 22 December, there are ordinary work days. 24, 25, 26, 31 December and 1 January are all public holidays.
All holiday should be registered in the HR portal.
Recording of the extra day off in the HR portal
Employees who wish to take an extra day off with pay between Christmas and New Year must apply for absence in the HR portal using the absence type 1 day paid Christmas leave.
Note:
- This year, this type of absence can be used on Wednesday, 27 December, Thursday, 28 December, or Friday, 29 December.
- This type of absence can only be used for an entire day.
Shorter work days between Christmas and New Year
Where the work situation allows for this, State employees may start their work day at 10 am between Christmas and New Year.
Access to the building
- From 25th December 2017 to 1st January 2018, you will need to use both your access card and code to get into the building and on our floor (just like during the weekends and evenings).
- If you have problems entering or exiting the building, please contact the Security Operation Center that is staffed around the clock. Call the duty phone 228 55007 or emergency phone 228 56666.

- The IT staff at the faculty can be reached by email all days (it-hjelp@sv.uio.no) or by phone (228 45777).
- The Administration will be reduced from 25th December 2017 to 1st January 2018. If you need to reach the administration, Mads Danielsen, will be available by email 27th through 29th December. Urgent enquiries can also be sent to Tara Sarin by email or by phone.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Anyone working at the office during this period should also ensure that the coffee and tea machines are switched off before leaving the building.
