The innovation conference Science Impact in pictures
The innovation conference Science Impact 2024 – tomorrow's solutions start today 25 September gathered researchers from academia, hospitals and the institute sector and representatives from start-ups and larger companies.?

The innovation conference had sessions on the use of artificial intelligence in life sciences and energy with talks from representatives from academia and industry and good networking opportunities. We focused on initiatives in academia and industry and the need for collaboration and framework conditions needed to put research to use for the benefit of patients and society.
A huge thank you to all who contributed on stage and behind the scenes and to all attendees for taking active part in the networking to make this an enjoyable day for all – we hope to see you all again at Science Impact 2025 – save 24 September 2025!

Students from all faculties at the University of Oslo (UiO) are invited when our student team invites to the opening of UiO iHub in Oslo Science Park on 8 October at 16:30–19:00!
UiO iHub is UiO's new place for innovative students and is run by students with support from the UiO Growth House and UiO.

Sign up for the demo day of the student innovation programme Co-Create 22 October
Join the student innovation programme Co-Create for an evening of innovation and creativity 22 October at 17–19 in Oslo Science Park. The programme is a collaboration between five universities and colleges in the Oslo region and is supported by Innovation Norway.
Five student teams will showcase the projects they have worked on throughout the summer and there will be mingling with refreshments.
Momentum student internship 2025: Registration opened for companies
Companies that want to offer summer jobs to students through our internship programme with the new name Momentum, can now sign up to attend in 2025. Companies of any size are welcome to fund an unlimited number of summer jobs. The Growth House covers 50 per cent of the salary of 10 positions in small and medium-sized companies. You apply for support when you register your company – first come, first served!
The aim of the internship programme is to introduce students to alternative career paths where they can utilise their knowledge and competence. Companies get access to smart, hard-working students who are interested in learning and contributing.
Apply for a place at innovation course for postdocs 28–29 November: Design thinking and other tools to help you transfer your research to industry and real world application
In this course we will take you through the steps of exploring whether your basic research can be transferred into valuable products, processes and solutions for society. The course is a part of the postdoctoral programme at the Faculty of Medicine. Through collaboration with the UiO Growth House the course is now available for postdoctoral fellows at all faculties at UiO.
The Growth House has engaged Joseph Makokha as course leader. He is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Entrepreneurship group at the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He has extensive experience in innovation and entrepreneurship and is an expert of Design Thinking, which is a method for developing products based on users' needs.
New in the Growth House
Ellen Johanne Kleveland, innovation adviser, PhD
After 17 years in the private sector Ellen Johanne is happy to be “back home” at the University of Oslo where she studied molecular biology. Ellen Johanne has a broad experience from both small and large companies in the biotech industry. Her varied experience with all phases of different processes in the biotechnology industry, is a great supplement to the UiO Growth House Section for innovation services. Ellen Johanne is looking forward to speaking to researchers about topics they are passionate about and at the same time contribute to creating value from good ideas. We welcome her to the UiO Growth House!
