The main activity within the new interdisciplinary initiative UiO:Democracy consists of research on democracy in its many facets, as a form of government and as a practice and way of life. The research groups will be central to the initiative's activities and ambitions.
In this call, we announce grants of 2 to 6 million NOK for 3 to 5 research groups each. The application deadline is October 15, 2022. All research groups must be affiliated with at least two different faculties, in line with the initiative's interdisciplinary profile.
Do you have ideas for an exciting project, but lack a member from another unit? Are you interested in participating in someone else's research group?
UiO:Democracy invites researchers that are interested in applying to a speed dating event, where you will have the opportunity to discuss with colleagues that have similar research interests.
The program
We will begin the event with an introduction from UiO:Democracys director Tore Rem. After the introduction, we will aim to facilitate different groups according to research interest. Therefore, we will ask you to indicate which thematic track(s) you are interested in. The main tracks are:

? Citizens, diversity, and inequality
? The role and function of knowledge
? Democracy and crisis management
? Democracy in everyday life
