UiO:Life Sciences' very first convergence environments were established in 2017. Six interdisciplinary research projects were selected following an application round that started in 2016. The individual research groups were represented by researchers from various faculties at the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital with the aim of solving major societal challenges in health and the environment. UiO:Life Science funded the convergence environments with PhD and Post doctor positions for a period of four years, until 2021.
