Master's supplement
The study will give you a unique interdisciplinary competence in life science innovation and entrepreneurship. To apply, you must already be admitted to a master's programme or professional studies. The duration of study is one year and is taken alongside the master's programme or professional study you are attending, which means you must have extra work capacity. The teaching is organized so that it will not overlap with other teaching.
Programme structure
The Honours Certificate will give 20 credits and includes the following four courses, Introduction to Innovation in Life Sciences, Business Tools, Introduction to the Life Science Start-Up World and Project Work.
Through lectures, seminars and project-based learning in interdisciplinary teams, you will learn to identify and develop ideas from life science research into new products and services.
The certificate is offered by Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo, but students from all faculties are encouraged to apply. An important learning outcome of this certificate is working constructively in small groups with people from different disciplinary backgrounds.
Honours certificates offered at UiO
The University of Oslo offers three interdisciplinary honours certificates for postgraduate students. Environmental humanities and environmental science was launched in 2020 and this autumn you can also apply for admission to Education for Sustainable Health in addition to the Honours certificate in Life Science Innovation.
