Considering applying? Get in touch!

We recommend that everyone who is considering applying contacts Morten Egeberg, Director SPARK Norway before the application deadline to discuss whether their project is mature enough to be admitted to the programme.

– The projects can be in an early stage, but there must be more than just an idea on paper. The researchers must have conducted work in the laboratory or clinic that demonstrates the idea can be further developed into new technology, treatment, or service, explains Morten Egeberg.

Valuable mentor network and educational forum

SPARK Norway was established in 2018 and is based on the renowned Stanford SPARK program. Since its beginning, the programme has proven to be a great success, and participation in the program has led to the establishment of a number of research-based companies.

Participants receive advising, mentorship, and milestone-based funding to the projects that are admitted as full SPARKees.

The projects also participate in industry events abroad to expose themselves to the commercial world and build their own networks and market understanding. In addition to individual meetings for each project, all projects participate in closed meetings with mentors and open meetings – the SPARK Norway Educational Forum – aimed at increasing knowledge about the path from idea to implementation.

According to Egeberg, the greatest value for the projects is access to experienced mentors from the industry and the commercial network of SPARK Norway, as well as exposure to key players in the market.
