Sign up for Oslo Life Science 12–15 February
The conference for everyone from academia, hospitals, government administration, politics and businesses who wants to develop world leading life science research, education, innovation and industry in the Oslo region and Norway.
Attend the main conference event Investing in health and environment in the University Aula in the afternoon 13 February, followed by a reception in Oslo City Hall immediately after the event. At this event we will showcase our best research and let international speakers give us new perspectives how to increase value creation from basic research. What are the government’s expectations for the life science community in the Oslo region?

Funding
We are seeking more projects for student summer stipends
UiO:Life Science will fund up to 20 summer research projects for students between April and October 2018. So far 40 students have applied. They come from a wide range of study programs from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Social Sciences. The students are looking for projects on cancer, neuroscience, antimicrobials, immunology, human/animal health, environment, climate change, sustainability, toxicology, bioanalytical chemistry, drug delivery and data science.
- Academic employees with a PhD at UiO, OUS or Ahus are invited to submit at project to apply for a student – application deadline 15 February 2018
- All students currently enrolled in a bachelor, master or relevant professional degree program at UiO may apply to get a summer stipend – application deadline 15 February 2018
Thon funding for life science researchers at UiO
Among those who are granted funding from the Olav Thon Foundation this year is the convergence environment "Organ on a chip" which is funded by UiO:Life Science. The Faculty of Dentistry is granted support for a project on antibiotic resistance.
