How are international regulations of pollutants followed up nationally and locally in Norway and Tanzania? The workshop "Pollution: Monitoring and Policy" brought together Norwegian and Tanzanian environmental authorities to address how international regulations on persistent organic pollutants are met nationally and locally.
The workshop "Mimicry in Metabolism(s): Industrial Chemicals, Synthetic Hormones, and Unruly Bodies" brought together people from different disciplines inside and outside academia in order to enable a dialogue on mimicry as a productive concept to understand and juxtapose industrial chemicals and synthetic hormones.

In this seminar international experts and junior speakers from the UiO:Life Science convergence environment PerCaThe discussed innovative methods for personalized and precision cancer therapy. The topics included drug sensitivity screening, machine learning and combined mathematical, statistical and imaging methods for cancer modeling and simulation of drug treatment.

The amounts of data generated presents unique opportunities in research and technological innovations. It also raises a range of challenges, including data standards, analysis and visualization, as well as ethical considerations such as data protection, privacy and ownership. This symposium explored the increasing role that data plays in our lives. The event explored research and technological innovations that involve data and the society.

We invited upper secondary schools to the Museum of science and technology to get to know the digital universe in life sciences and biotechnology that we have developed in collaboration with The Norwegian Biotechnology Advisory Board and the edtech company Creaza. The pupils also got to hear about an exciting organ-on-a-chip project at UiO.

We invited the citizens of Oslo to an indoor light event at the Museum of science and technology with glimpses of life sciences at UiO. We had stations with activities arranged as a light walk and the visitors got to meet scientists and students from medicine, biosciences, pharmacy, physics, psychology and chemistry as well as three cute robots.
