The “Green New Deal” label evokes pictures of a political programme for a large society working together to overcome what had appeared to be insurmountable problems. The environmental challenge we face today is surely great. Is the Green New Deal, which originated in the US but whose appeal resonates across the Atlantic, capable of bringing us into the low-carbon society we need?
Our discussants have worked with energy and sustainability issues from a multitude of angles, and in diverse institutional and geographical settings.
