Curious about the Sandpit program?
Take a look at the recording from the information webinar led by Samantha Aspinall, Head of the Sandpit Program (also referred to as the Crucible Program).
What is it?
The Sandpit program offers the gift of time to step back, think, and collaborate. The Sandpits approach fosters free-thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Early and mid-career researchers will work in diverse groups, brainstorming new ideas with facilitators from the University of Leeds. Pump-priming funding will be available to further develop the winning ideas after the program.
We will also have inspirational speakers to present during the sessions. For the first session, Karen O'Brien and Helge Jordheim will present and engage with participants of the Sandpit program.
- Karen O'Brien is a Professor in Human Geography and an internationally recognized expert on the human and social dimensions of global environmental change
- Helge Jordheim is currently a professor of cultural history at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages. He has recently been appointed as the new director of the new Centre for Global Sustainability at the University of Oslo. He has extensive experience as both a researcher and educator, and solid expertise in interdisciplinary research leadership.
