What is Fox?

Fox is a powerful HPC-cluster available to all users of the Educloud Research infrastructure.

Educloud Research is a project-oriented self-service Platform as a Service that gives easy and fast access to a work environment for research projects, storage that is available from anywhere and low threshold HPC resources.

Getting access:
You access Fox through Educloud Research projects.
Apply for a new project or request access to an existing one. UiO users can request access to the ec12 project to get started with Fox. Users outside UiO can apply to ec12 as well in order to test Fox before getting their own project. For use, Fox is accessed in the command line via SSH.

NB! From the 19.04.2023 files that have not been accessed during the last 30 days inside the "/cluster/work/projects" folder will be deleted. The projects directory is for temporary storage of files for Fox jobs, use the project folder for long term storage.
Who do I contact?
- Fox is only available to users of the Educloud Research platform.
- IT Help, the UiO joint support center can answer questions and give advice use or get access to Educloud Research resources.
- IT Help can also assist with advice using HPC resources and the services offered to scientific researchers at University Of Oslo.
