By default, data in a project in TSD is not accessible to any users from any other project. Data in /shared are accessible to all users in every project, but can't be used for sensitive data.
It is however possible to set up a special filesystem in one project to be shared with another project. See example below.
Example
A project pXXX has produced a subset of data that might be relevant for a study done in pYYY, and would like to make the data available (read-only) to the pYYY project.
In this case, pXXX has produced data from analysis on NMR of pancreas and liver that it is of interest for project pYYY. The pXXX administrator shall send a request to tsd-drift@usit.uio.no with the following template text:
I, admin of project pXXX, request the following shared filesystems: Shared filesystems: /pXXXpancreas /pXXXliver Shared with (read-only): pYYY
TSD sets up filesystems that are rwx - read, write, execute - for pXXX and read only for pYYY. pXXX can thus put any data that should be visible to pYYY in these filesystems.
It is under the responsibility of the project admins of pXXX and pYYY to report the sharing of data to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
NB! TSD does not take responsibility for any misuse of the functionality.
