Module load and /shared/* in TSD

Dear TSD users

  • On all linux VMs you can now do "module avail" and wait a few seconds to see all modules known from Abel and Colossus, we assume this will be of great help for you when testing and running scripts. Use "module load" to load the needed modules
  • On the VMs you will now find a restructured /shared/ now mounted both as /tsd/shared and /cluster/shared, here you will find different directories with shared open data of interest. If pointing to this data in Colossus scripts you must use the path /cluster/shared/ and /tsd/shared/ does not exist on the nodes anymore.
The subdirectories with reference data interesting for you are
    • /ncgc/                 maintained by the Norwegian Cancer Genome Consortium
    • /lcbc/                  maintained by the brain researchers at PSI
    • /comp_psyc/      maintained by the brain researchers at PSI
    • /amg/                  maintained by the "Avdeling for Medisinsk Genetikk" at OUS
    • /bioinformatics/  maintained by Elixir.no

NB Bj?rn-Helge has set up a sync job between data delivered by you to these directories inside the part of TSD seen from the VMs and the /cluster/shared/ part seen from the Colossus nodes. We do not guarantee this sync so it could be smart to check that f.instance reference data used from the nodes are the same as the ones you have uploaded to /shared/ from your VMs

NB2 : If anyone else needs a subdirectory like /cluster/shared/ncgc you must contact tsd-drift@usit.uio.no

We hope that this will be very useful to you all, and please do cooperate on reference data etc within the diciplines.
