Where should I save or store my documents?

Safety first! Information with protection needs must be stored appropriately.

At the University of Oslo, we classify information into four categories that indicate the level of protection your data requires. It is your responsibility to store documents and files on approved platforms in accordance with the information classifications.

The IT Department's recommendations

UiO offers a range of storage, file sharing, and collaboration services. You choose the one or ones that best suit your needs. What documents contain, and how they are to be used, determines how they should be stored or retained.

Teams and Shared volumes
Educloud og TSD

Approved for up to yellow data
 

Teams is approved for up to yellow data
 

Shared volumes are approved for up to red data

If you need to order storage space on servers or have other needs for storing large amounts of data, you can read about Storage Solutions at UiO or contact IT Help, UiO's central IT support. Remember that you should not store/retain or share information related to your work at UiO on services where you do not log in with your UiO username and password.
