Sharing of files

All members of the project will be able to use Educloud share, but the files you create will only be accessible to other project members if you save them in the corresponding project folder named ecXXX-nextcloud. Other files that you store in the service will only be accessible to you, unless you choose to share them.

Note: You are responsible for ensuring that data is not shared with unauthorized persons or that sensitive data is compromised.

To share a file, you can click on the "Share" icon next to the file.

Then, a menu will appear on the right side with different sharing options.

All links have an expiration date, so links are not persistent. The only exception is direct sharing to a person via name.

1. Sharing via email directly to the person or by looking up a name.

2. Share link creates a URL that can be typed into a browser or clicked on by anyone who has the link.

3. Internal link creates a link that is only available to those who already have access to the file, i.e. those who are in the project. This link requires an Educloud login to open.

Note: The person who gains access to a folder via sharing gains access to ALL files underneath in the folder structure.

Once a link is created, it can be edited using the three dots that appear next to the link. You can also delete the link by clicking "Unshare".
