A valid ID (passport) is necessary to be able to enter the University Aula.
EVERYONE MUST ARRIVE TO THE AULA HALL BY 6:00 PM in order to be admitted and sent through the security check prior to entry.
Large bags/ backpacks are discouraged and will not be allowed into the Aula Hall, but can be placed in the coat room at the entrance of the University Hall.
You will not be able to join neither the Opening Ceremony in the University Aula nor the City Hall reception if you have not signed up in advance.
You will NOT be able to join the Opening Ceremony in the University Aula if you arrive too late.

The Opening Ceremony will take place at the University Aula (Karl Johans gate 47), surrounded by Edvard Munch’s magnificent murals. The Rector of the University of Oslo, a representative from the Foreign Ministry, and a student representative from the University of Oslo will welcome the ISS students. Musical entertainment will follow the speeches.
After the ceremony, the City of Oslo will host a reception at City Hall, which is also the venue for the presentation of the Nobel Peace Prize each year. We ask attendees to dress in formal attire for the festivities.
As we are guests of the City of Oslo it is not possible for the International Summer School to extend the guest list to include others not officially connected with the ISS.
Invitations that serve as entrance tickets will be handed out during registration. Do not forget to bring it to the City Hall!
Transportation: Transportation is organized to the Oslo City Hall and back again.
Buses leave promptly and will not wait for latecomers!
