All inquiries from employees or students to IT help will either be resolved in the department or routed on to the right place and the right person. IT help is a continuation and expansion of the UiO Helpdesk which was started during the pandemic. IT help can solve inquiries from both staff and students via phone, e-mail, chat or Zoom. The section is staffed with highly qualified operational personnel. Inquiries about problems that require the physical presence of an IT employee or that require a high degree of local knowledge are transferred to the sections that have a physical location outside the units.
MN has given 6 employees to the new organization and is also contributing the equivalent to 3 full-time positions to IT-Hjelp. In the future, it is therefore very important that everyone assesses their own IT habits and actively uses IT help for simpler IT needs.
MN has chosen to keep IT resources linked to more advanced research and teaching tasks in its own organisation. It is now up to us to prove that this was the right decision.
