Through this project, INTED aims to improve the skills of Learning Assistants (LAs) who are participating in the interdisciplinary facilitator program.
Research projects
The objective of this project is to acquire knowledge on interdisciplinary teaching methods to facilitate and lead interdisciplinary processes effectively.
INTED is collaborating with the Center for Computing in Science Education (CCSE) on how to use text embeddings from large language models to analyze text from qualitative sources, such as in literature studies, surveys with text-based responses and interviews.
An important part of many interdisciplinary courses is student collaboration. Students might have different disciplinary backgrounds and are supposed to integrate their knowledge to solve problems.
In 2024 initiated a longitudinal study that follows students from various educational programs to determine whether, and how their attitudes and interdisciplinary competence develop over time.
By employing qualitative methods, the project "Understanding Interdisciplinary Education at UiO" maps current practices in interdisciplinary teaching and learning.
