How does music affect your body and senses? Participate in a live concert experiment and watch your emotions unfold along with the music in the room. Music is emotions transformed into sound, and the human body is a fantastic sensory apparatus. But what does science say about music? What buttons can we push to give you the ultimate experience? Does it matter how the musicians and audience are seated or how the lighting is? Which music triggers the greatest bodily reaction? And can we measure the special connection that sometimes arises between the orchestra and the audience?
RITMO will collaborate with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra to investigate how music affects the human body when a large symphony orchestra plays. We have created a concert that becomes a musical experiment and a catalogue of great emotions. We will try to manipulate the audience's feelings through intense music and then measure how the body reacts – both among the audience and the performing musicians.
Music by Tchaikovsky, Puccini, Barber, Khachaturian, and more.
