Interaction and pleasure
What are the processes and phenomena underlying rhythmic interaction and action, and the affective outcomes of these processes?
About our research
We seek to understand why rhythms make us move and how rhythm facilitates entrainment and interaction. We also explore the affective and social outcomes of such processes. These are studied through the experience of absorption in music performance and perception, music-related effort and skilled action, and the dynamics of music-evoked pleasure.
Method
We use many different methods, including observation studies, phenomenology, behavioural experiments, motion capture, eye-tracking, psychophysiology, and psychopharmacology.
