We have been busy with organising several workshops, guest lectures and concerts over the last few weeks. Here is a short summary of the activities:
- RaPMIC workshop. The workshop first called "embedded systems workshop" was renamed to Rapid Prototyping of Music Instruments and Controllers. Dan Overholt was visiting as a guest researcher, and several local researchers participated. There are some pictures up on flickr, and a bunch of links to various interesting things are posted on the wiki.
- OLO workshop. During the last year we have had a few workshops and some concerts with various constellations of the Oslo Laptop Orchestra (OLO). We were happy to have Dan Trueman over from Princeton University, both to hold a guest lecture about PLOrk, and to conduct a two day workshop and a concert with OLO at the Norwegian Academy of Music. There are some photos on flickr, and a video coming soon.
- Jamoma workshop. First we held a public workshop introducing Jamoma to beginnning and intermediary users. This was followed by a developer workshop where we fixed a number of issues that have been plaguing the current 0.5 beta release, as well as laying the grounds for future development towards Jamoma 0.6. These activities mark the end of a fairly long and intensive opening period of the new lab.
