Hi all,

We have finished grading all submissions. Here is the grading guideline we used when grading the final exam. Generally, your final grade is based on the final scores that you received.

The maximum number of marks for the whole exam was 100. The minimum number of marks required for each grade was as follows: For A, min. 85. For B, min. 70. For C, min. 55. For D, min. 43. For E, min. 30. These boundaries are based on an alignment of the delivered work with the grade definitions given here: /studier/eksamen/karakterer/.

You should be able to calculate your own scores based on this guideline. For those whose scores were a little below the boundary, both sensor had a closer look at all answers of your submissions and then decide whether we could upgrade it to a higher grade.

Thank you for your company this semester. Have a nice summer :)

Hi all. Below is the information about the front page tomorrow. Nothing special. Please remember to get yourself familiar with latex mode in Inspera and how to type DL symbols in latex before the exam tomorrow. It will save you some time in the final exam. Good luck!

"Written exam IN3060/IN4060

2022 SPRING

Duration: June 9, 9 am to 1 pm

It is important that you read this cover page carefully before you start.

General information:

All written (paper) materials are allowed, including your written notes. No electronic materials are allowed.
The exam consists of 6 sections.
In the multiple-choice question. There is at least one correct answer. You should find all the correct answers. You will get a negative score for each wrong answer, but never less than 0 for the whole question.

Good luck!"

All written (paper) materials are allowed in the final exam including your written note, but no electric materials are allowed!

All students either in IN3060 or in IN4060 will have the same questions in the final exam.

We will not provide the option to upload digital handwriting this year. Therefore, everyone needs to model statements in OWL axioms via either DL syntax or Manchester syntax. You will find a video and two materials on the schedule page, where you can find slides from the last lecture. The video is about how to type latex on the Inspera system. The same video is also available during the exam. But it is recommended to try the latex model on the Inspera demo test before the final exam. Additionally, you can find a link where you can find latex commands for DL symbols, such as ? (\sqcap). The last link is about the Manchester syntax. You don't need to use the latex model to type Manchester syntax. However, from our previous experience, stud...

Hello IN3060/4060,

The coming group session on Friday the 20th will be the last one this semester.
In the session we will go through last year's exam.
To prepare I suggest you go on to the Github (https://github.uio.no/mtlam/IN3060) where I have compiled all previous exams from 2021 to 2010.

Remember that the syllabus/pensum of this course is what has been taught in the lectures.
Of course, if you have any questions after the group session you can always send an email or a message on the mattermost to either Jieying or me.
Though until time runs out I would add to the google doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FEe4P4P95lj45IKC9bvD9cLBw6d4buKc9-eEGyBQ85c/edit?usp=sharing) of questions.

Until then enjoy 17. Mai and I hope to see you on Friday. :)

If you have any questions, or you found some slides or exercises on oblig that are difficult to understand and would like me to further explain during the course and the last lecture "repetition". Please write it on the google document before the end of 17th of May. If you found that other students have put the questions that you are also not sure about. You can "vote" for that question by typing "+1" at the end of the same line. It might be a good idea to start reviewing the slides of the lectures we have taught in our course for the final exam. If there are no questions, the lecture will be finished after a short introduction to the final exam and a Kahoot quiz.

Since we have more than 55 submissions to correct and only one group teacher officially, some students might not get feedback from Martin by today. Please do not worry. You will get feedback by next Friday. If you have not received feedback but would like to get it earlier for some reason, please write an email to Martin. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The mandatory assignment on OTTR (oblig 7) is now published under obliger. Note that OTTR is also the curriculum for next week's lecture. However, the oblig is published now so that you have a chance to look at it before the lecture next week, where you can ask me questions if anything is unclear :)

The deadline is 13th May (23:59). Good luck!

There is a slight change in the schedule for this week's (28.04) and next week's (05.05) lectures on OTTR. We have now published a set of videos that cover this week's curriculum on the schedule, which you will view this week, in place of the lecture (i.e. there will be no lecture this week). The videos give you an introduction to and overview of OTTR, a templating framework for RDF and OWL.  More info on OTTR can also be found at

https://ottr.xyz

Next week's lecture (05.05) will be a normal (hybrid) lecture, where we will look at examples of use of OTTR and go through exercises together.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask :)

Hi all. I would like to clarify the syntax of OWL QL, which might be relevant for oblig 6. It is not clear which Description Logic exactly catches the full syntax of OWL QL. What we know so far is that, as we mentioned on the slides, OWL QL is based on DL-Lite_R. Note that it means that DL-Lite_R is a subset of OWL QL, which means that OWL QL is more expressive than  DL-Lite_R. The syntax on slide 42 in lecture 11 is just for DL-Lite_R, not for the OWL QL.

To be more specified, OWL QL covers DL-Lite_R with functional roles, datatype property, and possibly other extensions. The full expressivity is written here: https://www.w3.org/TR/owl2-profiles/#OWL_2_QL.

It is unfortunate that the syntax of OWL QL is not written in a clear mathematical way. So it is not that easy to figure out exactly what operators are supported by OWL QL. One has to go through all texts in that section.

Hi IN3060/4060!

Like last week the group session will be held digitally.
The reason is that I was tested positive for korona last Saturday.
I am almost fully recovered and hopefully, future group sessions will be held physically again.

As the deadline of oblig 4 is on the same day, I will go through a couple of questions that have been asked throughout the week.
There will of course be breakout rooms to ask questions 1-on-1.
And I am available through email and mattermost as usual.

Same link as last time:

Cheers.

Hi IN3060/IN4060!

I have been feeling under the weather throughout the week so this next group session will be on zoom because I don't want to risk contaminating anything or anyone at school.
A covid self-test tells me I'm negative.

As usual, there will be help with mandatory assignments and weekly exercises.
There will be breakout rooms to ask questions 1-on-1.
I will also be available on mattermost or email.

Here is a link to the meeting:

Cheers.

Hi IN3060/IN4060!

Jena recently updated to version 4.4.0.
On the github I stated that java 8 was fine with the previous version of jena (4.3.2).
This is no longer the case as the new version requires the use of Java 11 (or higher).
If you started on your assignment before the update feel free to keep using the version of jena you have already been using.
Terribly sorry about the late message and any problems you had because of this.

If you have any questions or technical problems please contact me by email (mtlam@ifi.uio.no) or on mattermost.

- Martin L.

Hi all,

Our group teacher is Martin Tri Vien Lam (mtlam@ifi.uio.no), not Prof. Martin Giese. If you have questions about group sessions or would like to extend the deadlines of obliger, please send emails to Martin Lam (mtlam@ifi.uio.no) instead of Prof. Martin Giese.
