Course content
The course aims to provide a theoretical foundation for re-search in information systems development. The course pro-vides an overview of research in this area, emphasizing a critical approach to current Scandinavian and international research. Issues concerned with research design and docu-mentation of research are emphasized.
Learning outcome
The course aims to enable students to give an account of dif-ferent research designs within the information systems field, and their rationale. They should be able to characterize and compare various traditions of information systems research and position themselves with reference to current, multidisci-plinary research areas like Computer Supported Cooperative Work, Human Computer Interaction, Participatory Design, Organizational Informatics etc. They should be able to report and document their own research as scientific articles, and know about procedures for review in some relevant major journals.
