Officially this first lecture is mandatory, but that is only to enable us to know who is actually following the course. If you can't or prefer not to attend physically in our classroom (seminar room Gleditsch in the Chemistry Building, room VU49) send an e-mail to j.p.omtvedt@kjemi.uio.no that you want to follow the course and I will include you in. 

I will try to "broadcast" the physical lecture in VU49 through zoom (link from the zoom menu on Canvas) and I will also record the session (slides and my sound). It should work out fine, but it is always a little tricky to get all the technology to work together the first day. Fingers crossed..

Unfortunately I've been ill and on medical leave since the summer vacation. I'm just back (Wednesday 24th) and it will take some time to get on top of everything, including getting the course and its Canvas pages updated. Therefore, be aware that much of the information on Canvas currently is just copied from last year and not updated for this year. However, I've deleted all old announcements, so if there is any announcements you can be certain that it contain correct information.
