Here are the notes for the lecture on 21 February.
The student representative in this course is Jonas Eidesen, email jonaeid"at"math.uio.no.
We concentrate on theory this week in order to cover the Hahn-Banach separation theorem(s) and introduce weak-and weak*-topologies. Several exercises will be based on this material later.
Given the recent information from last Friday, the use of face mask is compulsory in case that one cannot keep a safe distance of at least 1 meter.
There will be handwritten notes for the lectures. I uploaded the first set of notes, for 17 January, choose Schedule and look under Resources. The Zoom-link for the lecture is available from Canvas.
Vel m?dt!
The first lecture, on Monday 17 January, will be on Zoom only. The second lecture, on Wednesday 19 January, will be on Zoom but will be recorded from the lecture room in the NHA building, and thus it will be possible to attend the lecture in person under the condition of wearing a face mask. The next lectures will continue in the same manner (physical presence possible with face mask, and Zoom attendance in parallel) until further information from the university and the department.
The first lecture is on 17 January.
We will follow the book "Analysis Now" 2nd edition, by Gert K. Pedersen, and the lecture notes by Ulrik Enstad (see the link to "Notes" on the main page of the course).
Analysis Now: the plan is to cover 1.3, 1.4, 2.4, 2.5,3.2-3.4, 4.1-4.5. This material is expanded in chapters 1-5 in Enstad's notes. In addition, we will cover some parts of 5.1 in Analysis Now.
