ENT1000 – Entrepreneurship

Course content

The course aims to give you a general insight into how an idea or opportunity can be created or discovered, and?communicated, tested and validated into a solution with value for the?users. The course emphasizes learning through entrepreneurship, and the students will work together in groups with experimental exercises or real-life examples alongside theoretical teaching.

Learning outcome

After taking ENT1000 you'll:

  • have knowledge of innovation and modern entrepreneurship approaches and how this theory can be applied in practice.
  • have a basic understanding of key directions in innovation and entrepreneurship
  • be able to distinguish between entrepreneurial and traditional management perspectives
  • identify, test and validate ideas or opportunities in the market, and design solution experiments with customers or users to address these opportunities
  • be able to reflect on attitudes and characteristics that can be associated with learning-oriented processes and show this through participation in entrepreneurial forms of work.
  • have the ability to communicate and convey academic views in writing and orally.

Formal prerequisite knowledge

No obligatory prerequisites beyond the minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway.

Teaching

This course will not be held Spring 2022

2 hours of lectures and 2 hours of group lessions each week.

  • Attending the first 2 group lessions are compulsory.
  • Submission of mandatory assignments is required.

Examination

The course grade is based on the following:

  • Oral group exam which counts 60% towards the final grade. All students in a group will be given the same grade
  • 2 hours final, individual multiple choice exam (digital) which counts 40% towards the final grade

Examination support material

No examination support material is allowed on the individual exam.

Grading scale

Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F?is a fail. Read more about?the grading system.
