Soil is the hidden powerhouse beneath our feet. It forms the foundation for plant growth, which is essential for our food production. It filters and purifies our water, providing us with clean drinking water. It reduces flooding, regulates the atmosphere and it could even play a role in reversing climate change. Soil has also in recent years become a focus and hot topic in the natural- and social sciences, as well as the humanities, bringing together researchers across disciplines in a common curiosity.
Despite all this, many people are unaware of the incredible work happening just beneath our feet, and even fewer know about the threats soil faces.
To raise awareness about soil's importance, the Green Office is hosting SOIL WEEK from October 7th to 11th. Join us for a variety of events focused on celebrating and preserving this vital resource.
