About the university art collection

UiO's art collection reflects the university's long history and cultural significance. It is Norway's oldest university collection, but it is also contemporary oriented and relevant for today's students, staff and visitors.

Art naturally belongs at the university, and the collection ties together surroundings, history and university life. The collection aims to inspire, enrich the environment and make art accessible to everyone
