The role and the tasks of the Academic Chair in the Knowledge Hub (KH) in Artificial Intelligence
As an Academic Chair in the Knowledge Hub for Artificial Intelligence, you will be integrated into a network of Academic Chairs working in the field of artificial intelligence across our partner universities. The academic chair appointed will contribute to:
- the development of the interdisciplinary Circle U. network of teaching and research activities around the key theme of artificial intelligence. These activities should lead to the realization of EU-funded projects in education (Erasmus +) and/or research (Horizon).
- shape and promote the Hub’s various activities. Specifically, initiate and contribute to the development of joint courses or joint study modules for BA, MA and PhD students; contribute to shorter training programmes and summer or winter schools.
- the AI Hub’s research and dissemination activities through research seminars or workshops.
About the Knowledge Hub in Artificial Intelligence
The Knowledge Hub on AI will address the challenge of human-centered, inclusive, and equitable AI, promoting the development and application of robust, ethical, safe, trustworthy, and sustainable AI systems. This will be achieved through a multidisciplinary approach, with various area of expertise playing a key role.
For the current position, we welcome applicants from a range of disciplines, although extensive knowledge and understanding of, and expertise in artificial intelligence is required.

Profile of the Academic Chair in the AI Hub
Beyond a strong academic and scientific profile, and expertise and experience directly related to artificial intelligence, we are looking for people who can bring exciting and innovative ideas, an interdisciplinary interest, and a strong commitment for developing Circle U. as an alliance. The academic chair is expected to have a strong team spirit.
Terms
The academic chair is appointed for a two-year term, with the potential for a further extension of one more year. During this time, the appointed person will be bought free 20% from ordinary research and teaching responsibilities at the University of Oslo. The academic chair will dedicate the time to the development of activities and is based at University of Oslo. However, the chair is expected to collaborate with and spend time at other Circle U. partner universities, and to attend meetings to facilitate collaboration, communication, and dissemination.
