Organisation of the work
The University Director is responsible for ensuring that there is a system for:
- Training within HSE.
- Registration of completed HSE training.
Requirements for faculties, museums, the university library and LOS
The unit's senior manager is responsible for ensuring that individuals obtain the necessary competence in HSE and that the training is documented.
The unit must cover expenses for mandatory HSE training.

Unit for HSE and Emergency Preparedness
The HSE and emergency preparedness unit offers the following courses:
- A module-based basic training (HSE basic course) of a minimum of 3 days is offered annually.
- HSE training for managers
- Chemical safety (e-learning)
- Course in use of personal protective equipment
- User course for working with open radioactive sources
- The substance register for the chemical contacts
- Laboratory safety
- Gas course (e-learning)
- Fire protection course for floor contacts
- Acute and life-threatening violence (PLIVO)
- Customised training by agreement
Department for study administration
The department for study administration must send out e-mails with information about fire protection and Sikresiden.no to all UiO students at the start of each semester.
Department for Finance and Business Management
The Department for Finance and Business Management must ensure that:
- Documented HSE competence can be registered for the individual employee in the personnel system
- It is possible to obtain an overview of which courses the individual employee has completed
