Oslo Pride has also cancelled all other events in connection with Pride.

– All our thoughts go to the bereaved and the affected, says Rector Svein St?len at the University of Oslo.

– If the attack last night is an expression of hatred towards a specific group in society, it shows that even here in our small corner of the world, we are still not on target when it comes to ensuring equal rights and respect for all people.

The University of Oslo was to participate in the parade together with Oslomet under the slogan "Fearless knowledge".

– Today we have to mark Pride separately, but still together, to honour those who have left us and the injured – and to celebrate diversity and love, says St?len.
