Over the past seven-eight years the G20 has assumed an increasingly important role in the field of global health policy development, most recently under the Brazilian presidency. The G20 does not have any implementation powers, but since it represents the main economies of the world, including from the global south, its impact on global health policy development is substantial.
Norway is part of the important G20 arena as a guest country both under the just finished Brazilian and the recently commenced South African presidencies. With an annual contribution to global health of 5,5 billion NOK, Norway is an important partner for the G20 group in this field.
How can Norway best make use of the G20 guest country status in the field of global health? What challenges lie ahead within global health work in a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape?
To open a discussion on these issues, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Sustainable Health Unit (SUSTAINIT) at the University of Oslo, is pleased to invite to a seminar followed by refreshments and an opportunity to network and mingle.
