Rector Election 2025

Between March 24th and April 4th (8 AM), staff and students at the University of Oslo will elect a new Rector and Pro-Rector.

  • Registered students, Ph.D. candidates, adjunct professors, and anyone employed in at least a 50 percent position can vote for their preferred candidates for rector and pro-rector. The determining factor for your eligibility to vote is your employment status on the day you cast your vote.

  • The election is a so-called preferential election. Eligible voters must rank the teams and can vote for as many teams as they like.

  • April 4, the results are announced, revealing the new Rector and Pro-Rector at the University of Oslo.
