- Involve key people in the planning (sponsor, colleagues and other key stakeholders).
- Map out important tasks and goals for the role during the initial period.
- Evaluate and plan for the new employee's learning needs.
- Obtain an overview of the role’s most important collaboration interfaces.
- Make a starter pack plan for the onboarding (pptx) and send it together with a nice welcome email to the new employee a few weeks before they start.
- Feel free to establish further contact through a telephone conversation, or perhaps a social contact with several colleagues, if the conditions are appropriate for this.
Practical conditions
