Editorial: Excellent Work on the Study Portfolio
Dean Hanne Flinstad Harbo and Pro-Dean Magnus L?berg are currently putting a lot of effort into further developing the faculty's study portfolio. Here, we get a brief update on the progress following the start of the academic year and this year's teacher gathering at the January seminar. Campus Innlandet is also approaching its launch this autumn in close collaboration with NTNU, which is starting up at the same time.

Practice supervisor award 2024 goes to supervisor at UiO Campus s?r
General Practitioner Sebastian B? at Lund Medical Centre in Kristiansand has been named this year's practice supervisor by the medical students at the University of Oslo. "It's great to know that so many students believe their practice supervisor is particularly good," says Teaching Leader Trygve Skonnord, who wants to highlight the important work that practice supervisors do in the education of new doctors.

Clinical-oriented teaching and close contact with academic environments are among the aspects most appreciated by students at UiO Campus s?r. This semester, several new students are being welcomed to UiO's first external campus for medicine.

UiO-students invited to international summer course
For more than two decades, the University of Oslo (UiO) has offered master's students summer studies in global health. International students have been and continue to be an important target group, but Norwegians are also encouraged to enrol.

UiO: Who should receive the University of Oslo's Human Rights Award 2025? (in Norwegian.) Until 15 March, individuals, associations, and organisations both within and outside the University of Oslo can nominate candidates for this year's Human Rights Award.

University Library: On 14 January 2025, it was announced that Sikt and Elsevier have reached an agreement on a new multi-year deal. This ensures researchers at participating institutions can publish openly in over 2,500 of Elsevier's journals, as well as having full reading access. Negotiations with Taylor & Francis and Wiley are still ongoing. Read more on the University Library's website.

Helsam: Louise Emilsson named as a rising research star. Emilsson is among the recipients of the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) "Rising Star Award" for 2025.

UiO:Growth House - Save the date: Oslo Innovation Week is being moved to 20–24 October (not September as in previous years). Science Impact is therefore planned for 22 October. Read more on the UiO Growth House's website.

UiO:Life Science will fund seven to eight interdisciplinary research projects, some of which are reserved for researchers who will have the Life Science Building as their workplace. Researchers from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. UiO:Life Science will hold workshops for potential applicants in January and February. Se more info below.
