Our researchers are doing very well in the competition for funding for new research projects from both the Research Council of Norway and the European Research Council (ERC). In addition, Earth and environmental science at UiO rank 3rd in Europe outside UK.

The prize 'Else-Ragnhild Neumann Award for Women in Geosciences' is awarded awarded to women who have made significant contributions to the field of geosciences. This year it goes to Joanna Dziadkowiec from the NJORD, University of Oslo.

Jon Ove Hagen awarded Honorary Membership in the International Glaciological Society
Professor Emeritus and glaciologist Jon Ove Methlie Hagen at the Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo, has been awarded the Honorary Membership Award by the International Glaciological Society (IGS). The award recognizes individuals with outstanding contributions to the science of glaciology.
